One of our partner workshops, Bombolulu Workshops, are hosting a fantastic, fun event on Thursday 20th May at 6pm GMT via Zoom! Enjoy learning about this Fair Trade producer group, see some of the products they make, watch a traditional Lua dance performance, learn some dance moves, and how to make a great cup of Kenyan coffee, meet two of the Fair Trade jewellery artisans, and chat with Bombolulu, all whilst virtually visiting beautiful Mombasa, Kenya.
Since 1969, Bombolulu Workshops have provided an income through work for their 160 disabled artisans and 20 support staff. The Covid-19 crisis has hit the workshops and their artisans hard. With many of their international partners' shops closed, most countries being in lockdown, and tourism to Kenya at zero, income has plummeted.
These events are always great fun and help to support these wonderful artisans during this difficult time. The suggested donation is £5, but please do give generously. Donations are to be made via this link. All the money you donate goes straight to Bombolulu. We cannot wait to visit the workshop again very soon and meet with the wonderful artisans once more.
