Based in East London, and with a second workshop in the Lake District, The Soap Co. is a social enterprise creating and manufacturing soap products with sophisticated fragrances, minimalist design and a strong social and environmental ethos. They create employment for people who are blind or otherwise disabled or disadvantaged and strive to reduce our impact on the environment, using packaging made from recycled materials and which can be composted or recycled itself.
The Soap Co. focuses on cultivating a stable and friendly workplace to support their employees’ independence and more than 70% of the team have a disability or come from a disadvantaged background. Their mission is to provide a stepping stone into other employment for those who can achieve it, whilst providing a real, long-term job for those for whom this goal is less likely. The Soap Co. currently employs more than 100 people across the country and aim to generate 60 new job opportunities for disabled or disadvantaged people every year.
