Introducing our new Ghanaian Brass Hardware & Candle Stick Holders! Our Ghanaian Brass collection is undoubtedly one of our most popular collections to date, so we are very excited to introduce some beautiful new products to you! These pieces have been a long time in the making, with each one being carefully designed here in Margate by our co-founder, Amy. Designed by us, our hooks, knockers, knobs and candle sticks are cast in Ghana by a family run workshop led by George. George is based in the hectic, busy and fast moving capital of the Ashanti Region called Kumasi. George started working with Artisans & Adventurers in 2018 when Bee met him on her first trip. She bought about 20 hooks to see how they went and boy did they go… We are now one of George’s biggest customers! George has been practicing his craft for around 15 years. He learnt from his uncle whom he was living with at the time. He really loves doing casting. He did not finish school and was unsure how to earn a living until he joined the family casting business and his love for his craft has pushed him forwards. George is married to his wife Afia and they have 6 beautiful children. George is very proud that his hard work allows him to put his children through school, which is difficult in Ghana as there is little state help. George dreams of expansion, of getting a bigger workshop and some machines that will make his work faster. He would love to get some equipment specially made to help him work more efficiently.
