A new conscious collaboration showcases global craftsmanship and brings natural festive joy to eco-minded travellers this festive season
Brightly coloured soapstone decorations, hand-carved star-shaped vases, delicate straw snowflakes, origami baubles suspended with velvet ribbon; take a look around at the carefully handcrafted Christmas magic that surrounds you. Introducing AARVEN x Inhabit Hotels.
Founded by designer and adventurer Amy Fleuriot-Reade, AARVEN, meaning 'friend of the people', is a destination for design with purpose. Rooted in sustainability and craftsmanship, the brand collaborates with over thirty artisan groups across Africa and India to create exclusive collections that celebrate colour, culture and contemporary elegance.
Each piece on display at InHabit Hotels this festive season is handcrafted from natural or recycled materials and transported thoughtfully, often by sea, to minimise environmental impact. Upholding Fair Trade principles, AARVEN ensures every artisan receives a fair return for their skill and creativity. The result is a collection that embodies integrity and artistry. Luxurious, meaningful and unique designs that tell the story of their makers and the traditions that inspire them.

The Inhabit collection is a testament to the craftsmanship of AARVEN’s artisan partners across five regions:
Kenya: Soapstone ornaments are carved in Kisii by a youth self-help group. Men carve the stone, women wash, sand and contribute to design - offering alternatives to child marriage and economic insecurity.
India: Baubles are made in Jaipur using recycled cotton paper. Each piece is handcrafted with a magnet closure for flat-packing and reuse, designed to last for years.
Ghana: Ethical brass candle holders are cast in Kumasi by George and his team, using recycled materials. With AARVEN’s continued support, George has built a home for his family of eight.

Uganda: Snowflake decorations are handwoven from raffia and banana leaves by rural women (pictured above), organised by community leader Ruth. Weaving fits around farming and childcare, and supports education and food access.
