Ghanaian Ashanti Brass Door Handle 'Patiently Waiting'
Couldn't load pickup availability
The Patiently Waiting handle depicts a Ghanaian gentleman in traditional Kente cloth — a figurative design rooted in the place it was made, standing out from the animal and mask motifs elsewhere in the collection.
Who made your handle?
Cast by George Kofi and his team in Kumasi, the capital of Ghana's Ashanti Region. George has been practising lost-wax brass casting for around 15 years, learning the craft from his uncle, and has worked with AARVEN since 2018. He runs the workshop with his business partner Monica and five other artisans.
The detail:
- Recycled brass, hand-cast using the lost-wax technique
- 15.5cm x 4cm
- No screws or nails included
- An AARVEN original design
Care
Polish with Brasso (following the bottle's instructions), or rub with half a lemon dipped in salt. Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.
