We love sprucing up our homes and wanted to show you how you can introduce some of your favourite trends into your home in a more sustainable way. You don't need to replace every piece of furniture in your home to create a new look. A few mindful additions can make a huge difference to the overall look of your home, and are a low-commitment way to trying out some new trends. MAXIMALISM
One of the big design trends this year looks to be maximalism, as the world gradually moves on from the more pared-back interior designs that have been popular over the last few years. This involves experimenting with patterns, colours, textures and the overall attitude that "more is more!" Maximalism is all about injecting personality into a space and opting for design choices that bring you joy, rather than relying on the comfortable choices of years gone by. Bespoke, one-off pieces are taking centre stage, with many people wishing to decorate their homes with truly unique pieces of art and vintage finds. Many people are leaving the beige colour palettes behind and instead our homes will become a rainbow of colour!

BOLD PATTERNS & COLOURS
In the spirit of maximalism, when it comes to colour and patterns, the bolder the better for 2023! We love mixing and matching different graphic patterns together but we know this can be intimidating at first. We recommend mixing a smaller scale 'ditsy' pattern with a larger print and in a complimentary colour palette. If you want to mix a few bold colours together, take a look at a colour wheel and pick colours that are complimentary (meaning they are opposite each other on a colour wheel) such as blue and orange or red and green. You can also experiment with an analogous colour palette, which means picking colours that sit next to one another on the colour wheel such as purple, blue and green. The most important thing is to have fun!

LAYERED LIGHTING
Lighting is one of the most important design decisions in your home, and picking the right lighting can make or break a room. One of the great things about lighting is its ability to take on different forms, utilise different materials and create unique moods. By layering your lighting you can create a unique, sculptural look as well as create ambience for any time of the day or year. Add warmth and cosiness whilst having fun with different lighting designs. Choose shades made from different materials, mix standing lamps, wall lighting, candlesticks and more. Create different zones in a room with floor lamps and add oversized pendants for drama and to anchor a space.
