Handmade comb symbol earrings. Highly polished, hand-cast brass charms. Created with a of multiple hand-cut and hammered pieces, carefully constructed to emulate a hanging mobile. Finished with a comfortable stud and butterfly back fastening.

The golden tone is radiant like the warmth of the African sun. Crafted using traditional techniques by a family team in Kenya.

Crafted by Bombolulu Workshop, a Fair Trade social enterprise in Mombasa, Kenya. Established in 1969 as a rehabilitation project sponsored by the Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya. They aim to empower artisans economically and socially to become fully integrated members of their communities. The workshop is also a registered member of the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO).

Materials: Recycled Brass

Sizing: 9cm

After several uses, our brass and silver jewellery may start to tarnish slightly. Some prefer the brass when it becomes darker in tone. However, you may prefer to restore your jewellery to its original polished gold-tone. 

The best way to polish your brass jewellery is to use a brass polish, we suggest Brasso (Always follow the instructions on the bottle). If you don't have any brass polish to hand or prefer a more natural alternative, cover half a lemon in salt and rub over your jewellery until you see the tarnish starts to lift, rinse well and polish dry with a soft cloth.

Silver needs more gentle polishing with baking soda and a damp cloth.
