We have some very exciting news — AARVEN products are now available at The Roost’s inaugural pop-up showroom at Borough Yards, London! If you’re in the city before the end of June, this is your chance to get your hands on our pieces and discover one of London’s most beautifully curated homeware spaces.
About The Roost
The Roost is a carefully curated online homeware destination that brings together some of the best British and independent brands under one roof. What makes them special is their incredibly discerning approach — they don’t just work with anyone. Every brand they bring on board has to earn its place, and we’re proud to be among them.
We sat down with Will Plowden, Managing Director of The Roost, to find out more about what they do, how they choose their brands, and why they decided to bring AARVEN into the mix.

A Conversation with Will Plowden, Managing Director of The Roost
Tell us a little about your role at The Roost.
“My job entails everything! We’re a very small startup — we started about three years ago and we have three members of the team. I fill in the operations, the tech side, finance — I wear a lot of different hats. But I also do lots of the curation, bringing on the brands, and everything from customer service to bringing on trade clients and designers.”
How do you source the brands you work with?
“We are very, very picky with who we work with. We don’t want to be a retailer that works with hundreds of different suppliers. Once we find a brand that we like the look of aesthetically, we go through their reviews, talk to interior designers to see who has worked with them before. Then we invite them for a conversation and hopefully bring them on board. Brands typically want to work with us because it’s a win-win — they generate more sales, more profit, and we give them the visualisation technology where they can visualise those products next to other household British names.”
How did the pop-up come about?
“We’ve always been online since we launched, and we were always looking for an opportunity to get in front of customers. It’s very hard to talk to a customer online — whereas when someone walks into your store, you can hear that they’re doing up a whole home or a whole room, rather than just buying a single product. This opportunity came up and we had to move quite quickly — we were given two weeks to get everything together!”
And why AARVEN? What drew you to our collection?
“Colour is such a big trend at the moment, and lots of AARVEN’s products are super colourful — they fill in certain gaps that we don’t have much of on our website. Things like hooks and brass pieces, cushions, tableware — salad servers and that kind of thing. I also think AARVEN has a very different style to everything we currently have online, and that’s really important to us when we choose the brands we work with — we don’t want lots of similar products. The crocodile print, for example — you have it on the tablecloth and then also on the cushions — it’s really eye-catching. It blends a great aesthetic with really good quality, and that’s exactly the kind of partner we love at The Roost.”
