AARVEN ethical homeware shop, King Street, Margate

Find us in the heart of Margate Old Town, open seven days a week, all year round.

AARVEN is an independent, ethical homeware and gift shop on King Street in Margate's creative Old Town — just a short stroll from the beach and the Turner Contemporary. We've been part of this brilliant seaside town for nine years, and every piece in the shop is designed by us and handmade by our artisan partners in Kenya, Ghana and India.

Step inside and you'll find our full collection to see, touch and take home the same day. Handmade paper light shades, hand-carved soapstone and olive wood, recycled brass hooks and hardware, hand-printed cards and gift wrap, natural home fragrance, woven baskets and our signature recycled-brass jewellery. Only 1 hour 30 minutes from London St Pancras, so why not make a day of it?

Step-free access
Our double doors open at pavement level, so the shop is easy to enter with a wheelchair or a buggy. Do give us a wave if we can help with anything.

Payment
We accept all major payment methods, including American Express and cash.

Open seven days a week
Nine years on King Street and still going strong — pop in any day of the week, all year round.

While you're in Margate

There's a lot to love about our corner of Kent. We're moments from the award-winning Turner Contemporary gallery, the sandy sweep of Margate Main Sands, and the winding streets of the Old Town, packed with independent shops, galleries, cafés and restaurants. Come for the day, make an afternoon of it, and take home something with a story.
