Ghanaian Ashanti Brass Hook 'Crocodile Mask'
Couldn't load pickup availability
The Crocodile Mask hook is one of our larger, more sculptural pieces — a stylised face that reads as tribal art as much as it does hardware, with real presence on a hallway wall.
Who made your hook?
Cast by George Kofi and his team in Kumasi, the capital of Ghana's Ashanti Region. George has been practising lost-wax brass casting for around 15 years, learning the craft from his uncle, and has worked with AARVEN since 2018. He runs the workshop with his business partner Monica and five other artisans.
The detail:
- Recycled brass, hand-cast using the lost-wax technique
- 20cm x 9cm
- No screws or nails included
- An AARVEN original design
Care
Polish with Brasso (following the bottle's instructions), or rub with half a lemon dipped in salt. Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.
